The "EPA-UA SBRP Seminar Series" is the result of ongoing collaborative and communicative efforts between U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 9 Hazardous Substances Technical Liaison (HSTL), Mike Gill and UA SBRP Research Translation Coordinator, Monica Ramirez. After discussing and delineating the scientific needs of the Regional Project Managers (RPMs) and the research strengths of the UA SBRP, Mike Gill and Monica Ramirez designed a first-of-its-kind seminar series, consisting of two parts: 1) “Live” at Region 9 2) Web Seminar The UA SBRP kicked off the “EPA-UA SBRP Seminar Series” with a presentation entitled, “Catalytic Destruction of PCE and TCE in Soil Vapor — Laboratory and Field Studies”. UA SBRP Investigator, Dr. Eric Betterton, presented at the U.S. EPA Region 9 headquarters on January 24, 2007. Dr. Eduardo Sáez led the web seminar on February 28, 2007. With the UA SBRP Research Translation Core working directly with the HSTL, the "EPA-UA SBRP Seminar Series" hopes to hit various targets at the local, state, national and international level.
