UA SBRP Training Core members attend 106th American Society for Microbiology (ASM) Meeting

Current UA SBRP Training Core member Chris Grandlic and previous core student Monica Mendez attended the 106th ASM Meeting in Orlando, Florida from May 21-25, 2006.

The ASM General Meeting is designed to meet the needs of professionals in the field of microbiology, particularly clinical microbiologists, pathologists, researchers, pharmacists, physicians, and other health care professionals.

Various topics within the spectrum of microbiology will be covered in order to meet the stated ASM’s educational objectives, which are to:

• Provide new data from the research of basic microbiological sciences related to human and animal disease.
• Update scientific professionals on GMP-regulated industry issues and new practices.
• Analyze topics regarding bacterial physiology and pathogenesis.
• Investigate challenges in environmental and applied microbiology.
• Consider the most recent trends in healthcare management.
